Request for Public Feedback on the Project Appraisal of the Guyana Coastal Adaptation and Resilience Project

Following the comments and feedback since the publication of the Coastal Adaptation and Resilience Project Concept Note in February 2024, the Government of Guyana is kindly requesting the public’s feedback on the Project Appraisal of the “Guyana Coastal Adaptation and Resilience Project,“ which aims at enhancing climate adaptation and reducing flood risk in urban and rural areas in Guyana’s coastal plain. The project will be financed by the Guyana REDD+ Investment Fund (GRIF), with the World Bank appointed as the Partner Entity to support the project development and oversight and implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture.

As part of Guyana’s commitment to transparency and inclusivity, the Government is seeking input from a wide range of stakeholders, including community members, civil society organizations, academia, the private sector, and the citizenry. Your feedback will help identify areas for improvement, ensure that the project aligns with the needs and priorities of the communities it serves, and enhance its overall effectiveness in improving lives and safeguarding livelihoods.
